I have done crossfit for about four years. I started at a friend's house and did workouts two to three times a week. After a couple of months, I felt like I was ready for more of a challenge. As a former high school athlete and someone who was also active in college and continued to exercise after I graduated ~ my head and body said I was prepared for an actual "BOX" environment. I can remember my first steps into Endless and the feeling of wanting to vomit because I was so nervous! Trust me when I say that I understand how much courage it takes to walk in the door and when I see each new face I am so proud that you decided to take the leap to begin your journey at Endless.
After I understood all the crossfit movements and began to feel comfortable with them, I realized that my diet was also something that needed some work so I started looking at my meals, did some research on foods, and talked to various athletes who did our style of workouts to see what nutrition advice they had to help me perform better. I have helped at the box with multiple biggest loser challenges and assisted athletes with meal plans and food prepping. Remember - food fuels your body and you only have one body so take it care of it the best way you can!
I now help coach wods as a trainer and have been assisting Kim with the gymnastics classes. I honestly cannot put into words how amazing this experience has been for me so far. I am truly amazed and inspired each time I coach; the movements and skills athletes have accomplished and the determination each athlete has always puts a smile on my face. The gymnastics classes have become my favorite nights at the box. It takes me back to the days of my floor and balance beam routines and the many struggles I had with bars! If you want to specifically work on a weakness or skill, this is the class for you. It offers so many progressions that coincide with our daily body movements and the wods that are written. I look forward to each night I am able to be on the floor as a coach and how I can support each athlete to reaching their goal as an Endless athlete!
