ENDLESS PREPARATION EDUCATION
Our intro program is a bit different than most CrossFit beginner programs. Instead of having separate classes, times, and sign-ups for a certain number of weeks, we have decided on a "learn as you go" program. We feel this will be more convenient and open up more available times for newcomers.
Our beginners will be shown how to do the movements being used in the Workout of the Day (WOD). They will be given a chance to practice the new movements and to use them in a workout immediately following. We have found that the mechanics of each movement are better retained when able to perform them right away. They will be performed in a wod setting, under a more controlled environment and slightly different area, monitored closely by a coach for correct mechanics, consistency and intensity.
The WOD will most likely be the same as our regular class by kind but may vary in degree. However, the wod may change based on number of participants attending and equipment available on any given day.
As each new movement/skill is introduced, we will monitor that it is being performed correctly and safely. When this is achieved, we will mark that skill off a list we have prepared of basic, most used, CrossFit movements/skills. When there are no more items to be checked off, we will consult with you on whether you feel comfortable moving into the regularly scheduled wods. We want you to be physically and mentally ready.
We will always modify according to each individual and their specific needs. This is so everyone from the seasoned athlete to the elderly can perform these workouts.
