We have so many changes we are excited to announce!
"SNATCH IS WHERE IT'S AT" CLASS
(IF YOU CAN SNATCH, YOU CAN CLEAN)
OLYMPIC LIFTING CLASS (starting 8/23/2014)
First, we are going to have a strength change. Instead of staying with the Burgener Strength program, we have decided to go back to a daily/weekly strength/skill program. We are going to move the Oly Lifting to Saturdays @ 12. This will be a 1-1/2-hour class covering the mechanics and importance of movement in the lifts for the first hour and then the last 1/2-hour will be free time for 1RM or to practice on certain areas of the lift you may want to work on. This will start on August 23, 2014. This is part of your unlimited membership. If you are a punch card holder, a weekly member, or any other Endless member besides unlimited, we will not be offering 1-day or single attendance. The reason we are not offering 1-day drop-ins is because of the complexity of the movements and we feel it would be a disservice to anyone trying to learn them in such a short amount of time. We will, however, offer a 4 or 8-day Oly Membership for $40 and $60+tax, respectively. For the time being, we will not be offering this to non-Endless members; however, may open this up to the public in the future.
We are really excited to share the changes to be made to our Friday schedule. We hope you enjoy it!!
1st - FIX IT FRIDAY (started 8/15/2014)
ALL Fridays will be "Fix-It" Friday, and instead of a strength/skill before the WOD, we will be working on mobility. With this, you will be learning a mobility for the month and every Friday will be given information and exercises for the week. This will be approximately a 10 to 15 minute session and then we will set up for the WOD. This mobility information will be homework for you to work on for the week and we will continue adding new exercises every Friday. We will focus on a specific area for each month and then rotate through. Progress will obviously depend on you as an individual and how much effort you put into the given exercises. Mike has already started explaining and implementing this class. Some items you may want to purchase for yourself to help out with your homework is as follows:
LaCrosse Balls (3)
Tennis Balls (1)
These are good starting pieces of equipment. There are many others that may be mentioned and will be up to you whether you need them or not as your mobility experience increases,
2nd - FINESSE FRIDAY (starting 9/12/2014)
After careful consideration, we have decided to use our Friday time at 7pm to implement a skill/gymnastic class. This class will go over the important body positions used in just about every skill/strength you will encounter in CrossFit. With this class, we will be working on skills such a double-unders, rope climbs, and more. We will also implement gymnastic coaching style circuit training to help prepare you for floor, bar, and other apparatus strength/skills. These type of movements will be movements broken down to help you learn handstands, pushups, pullups, muscle ups, and other bar exercises along with ring exercises. There will be no wod during this class; however, it will be workshop/participation oriented. Body memory is important in learning gymnastic/skills and we hope to implement a style of teaching that will help you retain and learn them more efficiently. This class will help your body awareness and balance which will be used in all other areas of CrossFit and will help you be a more efficient athlete in all other aspects. As is with the Oly Classes, this is part of your unlimited membership. We will, however, offer a 4 or 8-day Gymnastics/Skill Membership for $40 and $60+tax, respectively. For the time being, we will not be offering this to non-Endless members; however, may open this up to the public in the future.
Remember, the last Friday per month will be a Friends Friday that is for all members and non-members alike.
3rd - FRIENDS FRIDAY (starting 9/26/2014)
Friends Friday will now ONLY be last Friday of the month @ 7pm
(until 9/12/2014 - Fridays @ 7pm will be open gym)
We are throwing some other class time ideas around and would LOVE input from our members. We have been thinking 7am & 3pm. We have also thought about consolidating some of the morning/afternoon classes. We have considered summer/winter hours too. Just some thoughts we wanted to share.
